Australia and South Africa will face off in the second semifinal of the 2023 World Cup on Thursday, 16 November at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Australia finished third in the league stage, winning 7 matches on the trot after losing their first two. The five-time record champions will be aiming for a sixth title overall, and a second in the last three World Cups.

South Africa were the runners-up in the league stage, behind India. Aided by several huge wins, they had the same record as Australia with 7 wins and 2 losses. The Proteas have never made it to a World Cup final, but will feel optimistic about their chances this time around.
