'Virat Kohli is always first to training': Josh Hazlewood hails RCB teammate ahead of WTC Final image

This year's Indian Premier League (IPL) has come to a close with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) to win their fifth IPL title and become the joint-most successful franchise with Mumbai Indians (MI).

While Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) failed to make it to the IPL Playoffs this year, their ace batsman Virat Kohli was in the form of his life, scoring 639 innings in 14 innings, including two centuries.

India will be hoping he can continue in the rich vein of form when they face off against Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final from June 7 to June 11.

Ahead of the WTC final, Kohli's RCB teammate and Australia bowler Josh Hazlewood commended the batsman's work ethic.

'Virat Kohli is always first to training'

Hazlewood talked about how Kohli would always be the first person to come for training before any IPL match and would be the last person to leave the ground. Moreover, the effort he puts into every session inspires his teammates as well.

"I think it’s probably how hard he works (that stands out). His fitness first of all - and then his skill work and batting and fielding in particular. He is always out there (training) first and leaves last … and the intensity he trains at all the time is at such a high level it drags everyone else along for the ride. That can leak on to the other players and improve them as well," Hazlewood told the official ICC website.
