KL Rahul has been associated with the Lucknow Super Giants ever since its inception ahead of IPL 2022. The Karnataka-born cricketer was the first-ever player to be inducted into the LSG franchise after the owners drafted the player as the first of the three-man draft ahead of the mega auction 2022.

Three years into the Indian Premier League, life has been fairly decent for the Sanjeev Goenka-owned franchise. The Lucknow-based outfit has gone past the group stages and played in the knockout rounds in both of their IPL campaigns so far. However, things look a bit shaky in IPL 2024.

The centre of everything happening around LSG is the feud between team owner Sanjeev Goenka and skipper KL Rahul. Rahul, who was left out of India's T20I World Cup squad, has had a tough time, ever since his injury in IPL 2022.

Days after a stern conversation between the duo after LSG's face-off against Sunrisers Hyderabad, assistant coach Lance Klusener has shed light on the matter. Ever since the face-off, there are various rumours of KL Rahul ending his association with the franchise, in some way or other.

What did Lance Klusener say about the face-off between Sanjeev Goenka and KL Rahul?

After LSG's ten-wicket loss at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad away from home, Sanjeev Goenka was seen reprimanding the LSG skipper. KL Rahul, who usually has a calm head over his shoulders, was seen listening to his employer, very diligently.

Lance Klusener, LSG's assistant coach, has come out and shed light on the face-off between the duo. This is the first official communication of any sort, from the franchise.

Klusener has described the conversation between the owner and the skipper as a 'robust' one, and called the duo as 'cricket lovers'.

I don't see any problem with some robust discussion between two cricket lovers. So for us, I guess it's just a storm in a teacup. We love a robust discussion. I think that's how teams get better. So, it's not a big thing for us," Klusener told media during the pre-match conference for LSG's upcoming game.
