Two of the Indian Premier League's most expensive players, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins will go head-to-head in the IPL 2024 final as Kolkata Knight Riders take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai.
It has been a dream run for KKR in the IPL this year. They finished at the top of the league table for the first time in history and then convincingly beat SRH in the IPL Qualifier 1 to become the first to qualify for the final.

Revenge will be on SRH's mind as they face KKR for the third time this season. They played for the first time on March 23 in this edition where KKR narrowly edged the Hyderabadi side at Eden Gardens. In the Qualifier 1, KKR picked up a comfortable win.
SRH will hope to lift their second IPL trophy on Sunday. The last time they reached the final was in 2016 when incidentally an Australian (David Warner) had led them to glory.
IPL Final 2024: KKR vs SRH Live Updates
Hello and welcome to the Live match blog of IPL 2024 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
10:25 PM: THERE IT IS! Kolkata Knight Riders win by 8 wickets, in 10.3 overs and lift their third IPL title! A throughly specatcular performance on the night of the final, to go with a season of remarkable consistency. KKR 114-2 in 10.3 overs. (Shreyas Iyer 6*, Venkatesh Iyer 52*).
10:19 PM: This is unlikely to make much difference, but Rahmanullah Gurbaz has to go here, trapped LBW by Shahbaz Ahmed. Just 12 more needed for KKR, from almost 11 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz 39 (32) LBW b Shahbaz Ahmed. KKR 102-2 in 8.5 overs.
10:00 PM: That's the end of the first six overs, and this match is all but over. KKR are 72/1, and need just 42 more to win. KKR 72-1 in 6 overs. (Rahmanullah Gurbaz 21*, Venkatesh Iyer 40*).
9:43 PM: Half of the Powerplay is gone, and KKR have come out with real intent here. They don't want to stretch this game out too long. KKR 37-1 in 3 overs. (Rahmanullah Gurbaz 9*, Venkatesh Iyer 19*).
9:35 PM: Gone! SRH will need a lot more of that tonight! Six off the first ball of the over, but Cummins sticks to his length and induces the false shot from Sunil Narine. Straight up in the air, and taken in the deep. Sunil Narine 6 (2) c Shahbaz Ahmed b Pat Cummins. KKR 11-1 in 1.2 overs.
9:14 PM: That's that for SRH. Pat Cummins takes on Andre Russell, but can't clear Starc at long on. They're bowled out for 113, with nine balls remaining in the innings. Pat Cummins 24 (19) c Mitchell Starc b Andre Russell. SRH 113 in 18.3 overs.
9:09 PM: Gone! A bit of confusion over whether it was bowled or LBW, but Sunil Narine finally strikes as he traps Jaydev Unadkat in front of the wicket. Jaydev Unadkat 4 (11) LBW b Sunil Narine. SRH 113-9 in 17.5 overs.
9:05 PM: There's just three overs to go in the first innings, and SRH look down and out. We'll see how much they get, but it's unlikely to be enough in any case. SRH 108-8 in 17 overs. (Pat Cummins 20*, Jaydev Unadkat 3*).
8:48 PM: This could be it! The end of Heinrich Klaasen! The end of SRH? The off-cutter from Harshit Rana was wide of off-stump, and all Klaasen can do is drag it back onto his stumps. Heinrich Klaasen 16 (17) b Harshit Rana. SRH 90-8 in 14.1 overs.
8:41 PM: The noose continues to tighten! Abdul Samad wafts at one outside off stump from Andre Russell, and gets a thick edge. Rahmanullah Gurbaz takes an excellent diving catch behind the stumps. Abdul Samad 4 (4) c Rahmanullah Gurbaz b Andre Russell. SRH 77-7 in 12.4 overs.
8:36 PM: There's another one! Shahbaz Ahmed has to go! Tries to hit Varun Chakaravarthy over the leg side but it balloons up to Sunil Narine at short fine leg. This is turning into a disaster for the Sunrisers. Shahbaz Ahmed 8 (7) c Sunil Narine b Varun Chakaravarthy. SRH 71-6 in 11.5 overs.
8:28 PM: SRH are sinking here like nobody's business! Andre Russell comes into the attack, and Aiden Markram tries to take him on. All he can do though, is hit is straight down the throat of Mitchell Starc at long on. Big big trouble. Aiden Markram 20 (23) c Mitchell Starc b Andre Russell. SRH 62-5 in 10.2 overs.
8:15 PM: Another wicket, and Harshit Rana is on the act now! Gave away a couple of boundaries early on in the over, but he gets a full one to take the outside edge of Nitish Reddy's bat and SRH are in trouble now. Nitish Kumar Reddy 13 (10) c Rahmanullah Gurbaz b Harshit Rana. SRH 47-4 in 7 overs.
8:07 PM: Vaibhav Arora has gifted a few freebies to the SRH batters in the final over of the powerplay. Aiden Markram and Nitish Reddy bagged 17 runs of the Arora over, releasing only a bit of the pressure mounted early on. SRH 40-3 in 6 overs. (Aiden Markram 15*, Nitish Reddy 8*).
7:56 PM: It is Mitchell Starc's night, tonight! His second scalp in the third over of his spell. It can prove to be a match-winning, and a tournament-winning spell, this! How all the Starc haters have all gone for a walk now! Ramandeep Singh pouches the ball on its way down, just inside the 30-yard-circle, and Rahul Tripathi walks back towards his dugout. Rahul Tripathi 9 (13) c Ramandeep Singh b Mitchell Starc. SRH 21-3 in 4.2 overs.
7:49 PM: KKR have had a dream start in their quest to win their third IPL trophy. Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora have been unplayable so far, and SRH's in-form openers have returned to the pavilion, for an aggregate score of 2 runs. For SRH, a lot rests on the shoulders of Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram. SRH 15-2 in 3 overs. (Rahul Tripathi 7* Aiden Markram 4*).
7:43 PM: SRH are 6-2 in 2 overs! The dangerous Travis Head goes back to the pavilion without troubling the scoreboard. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is delighted behind the stumps, as he pouches the easiest of catches to dismiss the Aussie! Travis Head 0 (1) c Rahmanullah Gurbaz b Vaibhav Arora. SRH 6-2 in 2 overs.
7:34 PM: Mitchell Starc cleans up Abhishek Sharma on the fourth delivery of the big night! The bails go flying in the air! 24.75 Crores redeemed on this very ball, it seems. What a start for the two-time champions. Abhishek Sharma 2 (5) b Mitchell Starc. SRH 2-1 in 0.5 overs.
7:30 PM: Sunrisers Hyderabad have won the toss and elected to bat first. The explosive duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have walked to the middle. Mitchell Starc takes his stride to deliver the first ball of what will be an exciting 40 overs ahead!
