Electing to bat first, SRH were rocked early as openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were dismissed in the first two overs. Their innings never got going after that, as they eventually folded for 113, the lowest first-innings score in an IPL final as the top score came from number nine batter Pat Cummins (24).

In reply, KKR completed their chase with minimum fuss. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39) and Venkatesh Iyer (52*) ensured there were no hiccups as they finished the match in 10.3 overs to secure a third title for the franchise.

Did KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan show solidarity with Harshit Rana with a 'flying kiss' celebration after winning IPL title?

After the match, the entire KKR squad, support staff and owners took to the field to celebrate, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. While on the turf, Shah Rukh took a second to perform a 'flying kiss' celebration with fast bowler Harshit Rana. But why did they do that celebration?

Earlier this season, Rana had been reprimanded by the IPL for breaching the Players' Code of Conduct during KKR's match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23. His 'flying kiss' send-off to Mayank Agarwal attracted a total fine of 60% of his match fees.

Later in the tournament, Rana stopped himself from repeating the celebration after dismissing Delhi Capitals' Abhishek Porel on April 29, but was nonetheless hit with a fine of 100% of his match fees as well as a one-match ban for what the IPL deemed a second breach of the Code of Conduct.

The decision did not go down well with many fans, as they felt it was overly harsh especially on the second occasion. However, KKR seem to have taken the sanctions in their stride and 'gave it back' in their own way after lifting the trophy.
