The 35-year-old will replace the outgoing Greg Barclay as the fourth full-time chief of the ICC. Shah has been elected unopposed as the new chairman by the current board of the ICC.

2009-2013 - Executive member of the GCA:
Jay Shah made inroads into the cricket world first as an executive board member of the Gujarat Cricket Association.
2013-2015 - GCA Joint Secretary:
After being on the GCA board for four years, Shah was elected as the Joint Secretary in September 2013. One of Jay Shah's biggest contributions to Indian cricket was the reconstruction of the then Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The construction of a new-look stadium rebranded as the Narendra Modi Stadium, started under the leadership of Jay Shah, with his father, Amit Shah at the helm as GCA president. He held the position of joint secretary of his state cricket body until September 2019, before making the big switch with the BCCI.

2019-2024 - BCCI Secretary:
After his achievements with the GCA, Shah was awarded a place in the BCCI's Finance & Marketing committee from 2015 to 2019. That paved the way for him to catch the big fish - the position of the honorary secretary of the Indian apex body.
In October 2019, Jay Shah was elected as the BCCI secretary for the first time, before assuming the office for a straight second term in October 2021. Under his leadership, India has made constant progress as a cricketing nation.
The Men in Blue not only won the recent T20 World Cup 2024 but also made final appearances at the World Test Championships 2021 and 2023. India finished runners-up at the ODI World Cup 2023 too.
