Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s number 1 bowler in all three formats for quite some time. Be it Test ODI or T20I cricket, the ace pacer has delivered for the Men in Blue every single time.

Bumrah was a major factor in India’s terrific run at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Yorker specialist bailed India out of difficult situations on numerous occasions.

He alongside Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya bowled five fantastic overs in the Final of the tournament against South Africa with the latter requiring just 30 runs to win. Another notable performance from Bumrah was the one against Pakistan in the group stages, once again snatching the victory for team India from a losing position. 

Bumrah first made the headlines playing for five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2013. The then 19-year-old bowled spectacularly for MI in his debut season and was repaid by getting retained in the next auction. 

Since then, Bumrah has been an important part of the dressing room for MI, and MI didn’t forget to appreciate the pacer’s efforts with a salary hike after each retention.

Jasprit Bumrah’s IPL salary over the years

Bumrah’s salary in his debut season for MI was roughly around ₹10 lakhs. However, because of the then youngster’s impressive performances in his debut season, MI rewarded him with a salary hike of 1100%, resulting in a remuneration of ₹1.2 crores. 

Bumrah continued with this salary for the next three seasons, however, another retention in the 2018 mega auction resulted in the star pacer getting a hefty hike of 483.33%. Bumrah earned a total of ₹7 crores until the next mega auction. 

Once again, Bumrah was rewarded with a salary hike following the retention in the 2022 mega auction. The pacer has been earning ₹12 crores since the 2022 season, expected to get another hike following the 2025 mega auction. In the last 11 years, the speedster has seen a salary hike of  a whopping 11,900%.
