England cricket's legendary pacer James Anderson, who had announced his retirement from internationals in July, is considered to be one of the greatest fast bowlers in history, having picked over 700 wickets in the Test format.
Following his retirement, the 42-year-old had claimed that he might consider making a return to taking part in white-ball and franchise cricket around the globe.
Having last played a T20 game over a decade ago in 2014, Anderson stated that he was fit enough and interested in giving the shorter formats another chance before he calls it an end of his cricket career.

"There’s definitely a bit of intrigue with the shorter formats because I’ve not played any franchise stuff before. Watching the Hundred this year, seeing the ball swing around, it makes me feel like I could do a job there," he said.
"It’s hard to know if there will be any interest from people wanting me to play in that sort of thing so we’ll wait and see. I know it’s a while since I played it and my age will get brought up again, but I really feel I’ll be good enough to play that form of cricket," he added.
Further, he said that he will make a decision towards the end of the year when he finishes his role as a part of England's backroom staff at the end of September.
While he was doubtful on whether any franchise would show interest in a veteran bowler like himself, recent reports suggest that he might have found interests from the United States.

James Anderson might be a target for Major League Cricket franchises: Reports
According to the English broadcaster BBC, Anderson might have found interested parties from the MLC franchises in the USA, for the tournament's third edition next year in 2025.
The report stated that he "could earn about £135,000 (around 178, 000 US dollars) from a short stint in MLC". However, the interested franchise remained unnamed.
Several MLC franchise owners including Microsoft CEO and San Francisco Unicorns co-owner Satya Nadella have reportedly expressed their desire to attract the "best players in the world" to the competition.
The league made a huge stride in its second season earlier this year (2024) by signing up high-profile Australian stars such as Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and Travis Head.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting was also one of the coaches this year, with the Washington Freedom, which had won the 2024 edition of the tournament.

Fellow England player Jason Roy had given up his national team contract, to sign up in the first edition of the USA league in 2023 with the Los Angeles Knight Riders for a deal worth £300,000 (or 395,580 US dollars).
With their success of attracting world-class talents, the MLC is reported to expand its league from a 19-game season to a 34-game season, next year in 2025.
