However, Sarfaraz had an unfortunate ending of his Test debut, after the run-out with Ravindra Jadeja. Not before he scored a blistering half-century on his Test debut which helped put India in a strong position at the end of day 1 at Rajkot.

How did Sarfaraz Khan react to his unfortunate run-out with Ravindra Jadeja?
Sarfaraz Khan attended the post-match press conference after the inaugural day of the Rajkot Test. When asked his opinions about the run-out, Sarfaraz reacted in a poignant manner.
The 26-year old stated that there was a miscommunication in the middle, between Ravindra Jadeja, and him. Jadeja, who was batting on 99, called for the run, to which Sarfaraz reacted, and could not make the crease in time.
The Mumbai-born batter was dismissed by a direct-hit by Mark Wood from mid-on. His fellow Mumbaikar and Team India skipper, Rohit Sharma, was disgusted on the run-out, and flung his cap on the table in the dressing room.
There was a miscommunication. It is a part of the game. After going to the dressing room, I said "Hota hai" (It happens). There is nothing big about it. It's ok, Sarfaraz spoke to the media at the press conference.

How much did Sarfaraz Khan score on his Test debut?
Sarfaraz Khan batted on his debut, as if he was a seasoned campaigner, and was playing for India for all this while. The nerves could not get the better of Khan, who was batting on the pitch, with his wife and his father in attendance.
Sarfaraz scored a well-made 62, off just 66 deliveries. He batted at a strike-rate of just under 94, and hammered nine boundaries and one six on a flat, batting wicket.
