The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is upon us. There have been several champion teams in the past, who have secured the IPL trophy and some of them, have failed to win, losing it out to underdogs and dark horses.

The cash-rich league has transformed the way cricket is perceived in India. Ever since its inception, the lives of cricketers, coaches, and every staff related to the league, have seen an upward trajectory in their career paths, due to the IPL.

Legendary Australian spinner, the late Shane Warne won the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008. The veteran leggie led the Rajasthan Royals to their first-and-only IPL glory till date as they beat Chennai Super Kings by three wickets.

Which captain won the Indian Premier League last season (2023)?

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni won the IPL title with CSK last season. The 42-year-old stalwart won his fifth IPL as captain as they beat Gujarat Titans in the final.
