The build-up to the next Indian Premier League (IPL) season has already begun in full flow. This year the competition will see the return of the mega auction, and the franchises have already been asked for their recommendations on the retentions and things surrounding the auction.
With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, the BCCI would want to get cleared with all the formalities of the mega auction before that.

When will the IPL 2025 mega auction be held?
As per media outlet Cricbuzz, the IPL 2025 mega auction is likely to be held in November. Although the exact date is yet not revealed, the auction will be held in the third or fourth week of the month. IANS on the other hand reports that the BCCI could also consider conducting it in the first week of December. It is assumed that the IPL 2025 auction would be a two-day process, similar to that of the previous edition of the event.

Where will the IPL 2025 mega auction be held?
The Cricbuzz report adds that the mega auction will most likely be held overseas. Similar to last year, the mega auction could be held in Dubai. London and Turkey were also considered viable options in the past, but it is likely to be held in UAE.
