Almost a month into the tournament, Indian Premier League 2024 has been one of the most exciting. Sunrisers Hyderabad have rewritten the record for highest team total not once but twice already this season and teams have crossed the 200-mark 21 times this season.

The first game was played between two southern heavyweights in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, with CSK coming out on top.

CSK will be defending their title this year after winning a joint record-fifth IPL trophy in 2023. They beat the then-defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in a last-ball, edge-of-the-seat thriller.

When did IPL 2024 start? 

The 2024 edition of IPL commenced on March 22, with Chennai Super Kings taking on rivals Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the curtain-raiser at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Where will the IPL 2024 be played?

IPL 2024 will be played at 13 venues. 10 of those venues will serve as the primary home grounds of the 10 respective franchises, with Delhi Capitals (DC) set to play their first few matches in Visakhapatnam. Dharamsala will host two home games for Punjab Kings (PBKS), as will Guwahati for the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

What time do IPL 2024 matches start?

According to the first round of fixtures, IPL 2024 matches will start at 7:30 PM IST on regular. On double-header days, the first match of the day will start at 3:30 PM IST.
