The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are two-time champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The IPL 2024 player auction will be held outside India for the first time in the competition's history as the event will be conducted in Dubai this time.
While the main tournament has been conducted outside the country on multiple occasions, for the first time, the player auction will not be held in India.
The auction will take place in the United Arab Emirates on December 19, 2023. All the 10 IPL teams have a deadline of November 26 (not November 15 as was rumoured earlier) to finalise the list of players they will retain and release on the basis of which the tournament organisers will decide the player's pool by early December.

The BCCI has decided to increase the value of the salary cap by INR 5 crores which means that all teams will now be able to spend INR 100 crores on their entire squad.

For the IPL 2024 mini auction, KKR will be one of the strongest players in the auction table, with a huge purse in their kitty.
They released about 12 players including Shardul Thakur which has boosted their auction kitty.
