All eyes were on Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal as they took on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 1000th Indian Premier League (IPL) game.
Jaiswal who has been in top form throughout the tournament marked the special occasion by scoring a wonderful century, posting a total of 124 runs in 62 balls. Unfortunately, his heroics weren't enough to get his side the victory, with MI winning the bout.

However, in the post-match interview, MI and India skipper Rohit Sharma was full of praise for the RR batsman and hinted at him making his debut for the national side soon.
Will Jaiswal make his India debut soon?
Speaking after the game, Rohit Sharma stated that Jaiswal has upped his game from the previous year after focusing on his fitness, and that is good news not only for the batsman himself and RR but also for India.
"I watched him (Jaiswal) last year, he's taken it to the next level. I asked him 'where did you get the power from'. He said he's been going to the gym, that's good for him, India and RR," stated Sharma after the match.
