Rohit Sharma was in action when Mumbai Indians (MI) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday at the Ekana Sports Stadium.
After batting first, LSG set a target of 178 for MI to chase. As usual, Sharma came out to open the innings along with Ishan Kishan at the other end.
How did Rohit Sharma perform against LSG?
The Mi skipper looked in ominous touch as he scored 37 off 25 balls.
His first six came off Yash Thakur as he danced down the wicket and pulled him over mid-wicket. He meted out the same treatment to Naveen Ul-Haq in the fifth over when the bowler tried to deceive him with a slower. He knelt down on one knee and smoked it over the shorter side of the field for another maximum.
However, he was lucky during his third six, as Ravi Bishnoi lost his balance in the deep and even after taking a clean catch touched the boundary before throwing the ball back into play.
But it was Bishnoi who sent him packing on 37 with a leg break. Sharma tried to clear the fence but did not get the desired connection and was caught by Deepak Hooda at long-on.
