Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been dealt a blow after news came out that their batting linchpin Jos Buttler is facing a spell on the sidelines in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
This is a huge blow for Royals as Buttler is one of the most prolific batsmen in the IPL currently and was the Orange Cap winner last year.
What happened to Jos Buttler?
The England international suffered an injury in his side's recent match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) when he ran from deep and dived forward while taking a catch off Jason Holder's bowling to dismiss PBKS batsman Shahrukh Khan. Although he took a clean catch to send the batsman back to the dugout he ended up injuring the little finger on his left hand in the process.
He looked in pain and soon left the field with a couple of balls still to play.

What is Jos Buttler's injury?
Buttler's injury doesn't seem to be too serious but he has got multiple stitches to patch up the bruised little finger.
Ravichandran Ashwin was sent to open the innings but the Indian international lasted for just four balls which forced Buttler to come out with the bat quite early. He made a quickfire 19 of 11 balls before getting dismissed to Nathan Ellis.
Interestingly, he was awarded for the catch and he came to collect his cheque his little finger was heavily strapped.

How many IPL games will Jos Buttler miss?
Buttler is almost certain to miss RR's next game against DC on April 8. His finger remains sore and the injury could aggravate while fielding. Hence the medical staff wants him to be rested for the next game.
However, if the finger heals taking on CSK on April 12 then he might be available for that game.
