“Rajasthan had a very good environment, I had good talks about how I can improve”, Root told SkySports.
He added that playing the county would have been beneficial for anyone to prepare for the upcoming Ashes series, but Root chose to play in the IPL as a learning curve.
“Four-day (County) cricket in England is the bedrock, should be a learning platform for all, but where I am in my career, I thought it was the better opportunity to expand & evolve my game", added Root.
