India international batter Mayank Agarwal has been admitted to a hospital in Agartala after he complained of a burning sensation in his mouth and throat.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener has been reportedly admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the ILS Hospital in Agartala, Tripura.

The cricketer was traveling from Agartala to Surat by flight when he reportedly drank from a water bottle which led to the uneasiness. He was immediately deboarded and was rushed to the hospital. He is currently out of danger after initial treatment. 

According to the latest reports from Tuesday morning, Agarwal is stable and out of danger, but has initiated police proceedings. SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar confirmed that the player's manager "lodged a specific complaint under NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) to investigate the matter".

He was returning from Agartala after participating in a Ranji Trophy game between Karnataka and Tripura where his team Karnataka emerged victorious by 29 runs.

Karnataka are scheduled to face Surat in their next game which will be held in Gujarat.

Agarwal scored a half-century in the first innings while he was dismissed for 17 runs in the second innings. Carrying a 41-run lead from the first innings, the southern state was bowled out for 151 but they managed to defend 193 runs by dismissing Tripura for 163 in their second innings.
