Former England captain Nasser Hussain has made a bold claim about 'Bazball' ahead of England's visit to India. The two nations are scheduled to face off in a five-match Test series as a part of the World Test Championship cycle 2023-25.

India last met England in the red-ball format back in 2021. The five-match Test series ended in a 2-2 draw. After the inaugural Test ended in a stalemate, India won the second and the fourth Tests while the hosts emerged victorious in the third and the fifth.

The two teams have gone toe-to-toe in recent years, and have given us many memories to behold. All eyes are now on England, who visit India for a red-ball contest after three years. The last time India hosted England, they won the four-match series by 3-1.

What did Nasser Hussain say about 'Bazball' in India?

Nasser Hussain was skeptical in predicting England's performance in the upcoming Test series. In his interview with Sky Sports, he talked about how the hosts would be ready to put 'Bazball' to bed.

Speaking to Sky Sports the England legend said,

I think India is waiting, there's been a lot of talk about Indian cricket and there's been a lot of talk about Bazball and the two of them are just about to meet and a lot of Indian fans are waiting to see how their team put bazball to bed.

What is 'Bazball'?

Bazball is the name given to the brand of Test Cricket played by England under the leadership of Brendon McCullum. The style is characterised by aggressive batting and bowling. Test Cricket is widely accepted as a defensive format of cricket.

Bazball has given a new identity to Test cricket in the past few years. Nasser Hussain believes that Indian Team and its fans would show Bazball its place, and put it to rest.

When will the India vs England Test series start?

India will host England for a series of five Test matches. The inaugural match will be hosted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The match is scheduled to be held between January 25 and January 29, 2024.

The remaining matches will be held at Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala respectively.
