In a historic triumph, India's women's cricket team, led by Deepti Sharma's stellar all-round performance, defeated England by a resounding 347 runs in the one-off Test.

Opting to bat first, the Indian batsmen showcased their prowess on a favourable pitch, contributing significantly to amassing a total exceeding 400 on the opening day.

England Women faced a daunting challenge against the Indian bowlers, particularly Deepti Sharma, who delivered a remarkable spell, securing a five-wicket haul.

Her brilliance played a pivotal role in India gaining a substantial 292-run lead. Although there was an option to enforce the follow-on, captain Harmanpreet Kaur decided otherwise. Instead, India Women added crucial runs on Day 2, setting a challenging target of 479.

In the second innings, England batters struggled once again, showing little resilience. Pooja Vastrakar claimed three wickets, complementing Deepti's four-wicket haul. Deepti not only excelled with the ball but also made a significant contribution with the bat, scoring 87 runs. Her exceptional all-round performance included a total of 9 wickets in the match.

The victory marked India's first-ever win over England Women in a home test and is also the biggest win in women's test cricket history.
