After winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian cricket team is set to play a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The first T20I will take place on Saturday, July 6 at Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe.

Shubman Gill will lead the young Indian squad. He missed the T20 World Cup after being excluded from the 15-man squad, however, he now has a chance to show his leadership skills at the international arena.

Several players from the IPL 2024 have been included in the squad. Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma, who had an outstanding IPL season, are among the new faces.

1st T20I: India vs Zimbabwe Live Updates (All times in IST)

8:03 PM: India 102 all-out in 19.5 overs. Zimbabwe have pulle dof a fairytale vicotry against the World champions at the Harare Sports Club. Washington Sundar's efforts int he end fell short by 13 runs as the hosts pulled off a huge upset at home. 

7:34 PM: India 75/7 in 15 overs. The Indians might be looking at the possibility of a shocking defeat against the hosts. They are currently seven wickets down requiring 41 more runs in the last five to win the game. Washington Sundar is currently supported by Avesh Khan on the crease.  

7:12 PM: India 43/5 in 10 overs. The Wolrd T20 champions have been taken aback by Zimbabwe's brilliant bowling. Shubhman Gill is the only one to score runs for the Indian team as they are falling like nine pins form the other end. India require 73 more runs to win the game in the last ten overs as Washington Sundar walks onto the pitch. 

6:47 PM: India 22/4 in 5 overs. Shubhman Gill's team are in deep trouble having lost four important wickets inside the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Riyan Parag and Rinku Singh have all departed to the pavillion. Wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel has now joined the skipper on the crease with India requiring 94 more runs in 15 overs to win the first T20I clash of the series. 

6:25 PM: We are back as India start their chase to win the first T20I game of the five-match series. Skipper Shubhman Gill has been partnered by Abhishek Sharma onto the crease. Wellington Masakdza will be opening the proceedings for the hosts with the ball in hand. 

6:12 PM: Zimbabwe 115/9 in 20 overs. Wikcet-keeper Clive Madande has helped the hosts reach a respectable total, adding 25 runs for the final wicket single handedly. Bioshnoi has been the star of the evening for the Indians, picking up four wikcets and giving away just 13 runs. Shubhman Gill's men will be needing 116 runs to win the game when they come out to bat. 

5:48 PM: Zimbabwe 90/7 in 15 overs. The hosts are in big trouble as Washington Sundar has joined in Ravi Bishnoi in tearing through the Zimbabwe batting lineup. It's only a matter of time before their innings comes to an end. India might be looking at a comfortable target when they come out to bat.

5:23 PM: Zimbabwe 69/3 after the end of 10 overs. Ravi Bishnoi has provided the World T20 champions with important breakthroughs in Wesley Madhevere and a dangerous looking Brian Bennett. Dion Myers has joined skipper Sikandar Raza on the crease as we move on to the second half od the Zimbabwe innings. 

04:58 PM: Zimbabwe 40/1 in 5 overs. Though losing Kaia in the second over of the innings, Zimbabwe have recovered well scoring 40 runs with a loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs. Brian Bennett 23(14)*, Wessly Madhevere 17(15)*. Current partnership 34 runs off 23 balls.

04:30 PM: Right then, Madhevere and Kaia makes their way to the crease. Khaeel Ahmed has the bowl in hand.
