India beat South Africa in the 3rd and final ODI of the three-match series. The two nations battled it out at the Boland Park in Paarl, and India won the game by 78 runs. The Men in Blue bagged the series 2-1, as the make up for the lackluster performance in Gqeberha.

The victory in Paarl meant that Indians lifted only their second-ever bilateral ODI series silverware on Proteas Soil.

This is a historic moment for the young Indian side, without the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami.

Batting first, KL Rahul & Co. put up a convincing total of 296 runs on the board. Sanju Samson scored his maiden ODI century as the Kerala-born cricketer stepped up in Paarl, scoring a 114-ball 108. Youngster Tilak Verma (52 off 77) partnered with Samson to lead India to a total of 296 runs.

In response, the Proteas fell short of the 297-run target by quite a mile. The visitors were bundled up for 218 runs as Tony de Zorzi tried his best to get his team over the line.

But unlike the last game, de Zorzi was unsuccessful in Paarl. He lacked support from other batsmen in the team, recording a string of low scores. Speedster Arshdeep Singh impressed yet again, bagging himself a 4-fer.
