India and South Africa, both unbeaten in the tournament, will clash in the T20 World Cup 2024 final. This highly anticipated match will be held at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, on June 29 at 10.30 am local time, 8 pm IST.

The stakes are high for both teams. South Africa has a long history of dramatic moments in World Cups, and winning this final would mean a lot for the nation.

For India, this match could be a redemption story. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid, India has reinvented its T20 game, aiming for an ICC title after 11 years.

India comes into the final with seven wins out of eight games, with one no result. Their only challenge came against Pakistan on a tough New York pitch.

South Africa, on the other hand, has won all eight of their games, handling pressure situations with ease.

Both teams are likely to stick with their successful line-ups unless conditions call for a change. South Africa might consider an extra seamer if the pitch conditions favor fast bowlers.

Kensington Oval has been favorable for fast bowlers, with 59 wickets taken at an average of 20.22 and an economy rate of 7.88. The final will be played on pitch No. 4, used earlier in the tournament. The weather forecast suggests a threat of rain, but there is a reserve day available.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final: India vs South Africa Live Updates (All times in IST)

Hello and welcome to the Live match blog of the T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa in Barbados.

INDIA WIN THE T20 WORLD CUP 2024! The Men in Blue beat South Africa by 7 runs. South Africa are restricted to 169/8 in 20 overs. From needing 30 runs in five overs, Indian bowlers do the unthinkable.

South Africa are 147/4 in 15 overs. South Africa on a rampage here! Heinrich Klaasen just went on a spree against Axar Patel! He hit four boundaries in the over to get the run rate down to a run-a-ball. Barring a miracle against an in-form Klaasen, India do not stand a chance here.

South Africa are 81/3 in 10 overs. The Proteas have upped the ante since the sixth over, and score 50 runs, until the half-way stage. They need 96 more in the second half, to clinch their maiden T20 World Cup title. Rohit Sharma & Co. need to buckle up to get a bit of momentum, which they have lost in the last five overs.

South Africa are 32/2 in 05 overs. Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh have started strong on the night of the final. Reeza Hendicks and Aiden Markram tumble as South Africa stumble at the start. The next five overs will be crucial for the Proteans, as they look to chase a mighty-looking 177.

We are back as South Africa start the chase against the Men in Blue in Barbados. The Proteas will be needing 177 runs to lift the trophy. Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock start the proceeding for Aiden Markram's team while Rohit Sharma hands the ball to Arshdeep Singh looking for an early wicket.

END OF THE INNINGS!!! India finish at 176/7 in 20 overs. The Men in Blue have done a commendable job in Barbados. They had to face a scare early in the game after losing three wickets, but have managed to drag themselves back into the game, thanks to Kohli's stunning 76-run knock. South Africa will be needing 177 runs to win the final when they come out to bat.

India 118/4 in 15 overs. Axar and Kohli stabilized the Indian innings before Axar departed for a well made 47. Shivam Dube has joined Kohli on the crease who is closing on his first half century of the tournament. The next five overs will be crucial in deciding India's chances in the final.

India 75/3 at the end of 10 overs. We are at the halfway stage in the Indian innings. Axar patel and Virat Kohli have held the innings together for India after losing three wickets inside the powerplay. The duo needs to stay longer if India are to post a big total against the Proteas.

India 39/3 in 5 overs. The Men in Blue are in big touble having lost three huge wickets. Skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav have all departed to the pavillion. Axar Patel has joined Virat Kohli at the crease who has been the only one looking in good touch today.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be opening the proceedings for the Men in Blue, while pacer Marco Janesn will aim to provide an early breakthrough against the right handed duo for the Proteas.
