However, rising political tensions especially since 2008 mean that the sides have not played a bilateral series against each other since 2012, and not met in a Test match since 2007, a gap of 17 years now. They have, however, met several times in ICC tournaments.

India vs Pakistan all-time records and win list for cricket matches played between two sides
The storied cricketing history of both these nations means that they have met multiple times in all three formats of the game; Tests, ODIs and T20Is. The first meeting between them was a Test match in Delhi in October 1952, where India under Lala Amarnath beat Pakistan by an innings and 70 runs.
The first limited-overs match between India and Pakistan took place in October 1978. The visiting Indian side earned a nail-biting 4-run win in Quetta thanks to Mohinder Amarnath's all-round show. They met in T20Is for the first time in 2007 in Durban, as their group stage match at the T20 World Cup ended in a tie and India won the subsequent bowl-out.
The latest India-Pakistan match happened at the ODI World Cup in October 2023. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India skittled Pakistan for 191 before chasing down the target in just 30.3 overs.
