The Indian women's cricket lost their way during the chase against Bangaldesh as the third ODI, in Mirpur on Saturday, ended in a thrilling tie. Both teams shared the silverware as the series decider ended in a dramatic fashion.

While the hosts had won the rain-affected first match by 40 runs, India scored a massive 108-run win in the second to level the series. In the final match of the series, the Indian batting folded up at 225 in 49.3 overs while chasing a target of 226.

Batting first, the hosts posted a competitive total of 225 runs with the loss of four wickets. Bangladeshi openers Shamima Sultana and Fargana Hoque gave a solid start to their team. The duo put up 93 runs for the opening wicket.

After Sultana's wicket, Hoque scored a magnificent century (107 runs off 160 balls). She was ably accompanied by skipper Niger Sultana, who scored a handy knock of 24 runs.

India struggled to make their presence felt in the first half of the game. Sneh Rana was the only bowler who had little influence on the match. The spinner picked up two wickets at an economy of 4.5.

In response, India also put up 225 runs on the board. The visitors were bundled up for 225 runs with three balls to spare.

After a shaky start, Harleen and Mandhana tidied things up for India. The duo scored 77 and 59 runs respectively, and added 107 runs for the third-wicket. At 139-3, it seemed India's game to lose.

However, things changed quickly for India, as Nahida Akter and Fahima Khatun brought Bangladesh back into the game. The duo picked up four wickets between them and provided breakthroughs at crucial junctures of the chase.

The chase ended at 225, as Jemimah Rodrigues saw wickets fall like a pack of cards from the other end. The Mumbai-born batsman remained unbeaten on 33.
