The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be staged in Pakistan, a country where India have its ties, cut off. The last time that India visited Pakistan was in 2008, for the Asia Cup. Even after a 17-year break, Pakistan have yet another chance to host India, this time for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Having won the previous edition in 2017, the scheduled hosts go into the tournament as defending champions. Pakistan beat arch-rivals India in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy. As the tournament breathes life after seven long years, Pakistan hope to host the event for the first time, having denied it once in 2008.

The Pakistan Cricket Board were denied the right to host India in the recent ACC Asia Cup in 2023, with the Men in Blue playing their matches in Sri Lanka.
With everything going around India, Pakistan, and ICC, it remains to be seen if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) obliges to Pakistan's request to host their arch-rivals.
It is highly unlikely, though, that India would travel to Pakistan for the CT 2025.
Where will India play their ICC CT 2025 matches, should they travel to Pakistan?
Should Rohit Sharma and his men travel to Pakistan, they will play their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Lahore. The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is one of the three venues nominated by the PCB to the ICC, for the hosting of the CT 2025. The other two venues are Karachi and Rawalpindi.
Team India would play their matches in Lahore, as decided by the PCB after a long thought. The city of Lahore is closer to the Indo-Pak border - The Wagah Border. Lahore is chosen to provide comfortable and hassle-free travel to Indian fans, to come and support their country.
The Visas of Indians to Pakistan, and other logistics remain to be seen. However, the PCB have submitted a provisional draft to the ICC regarding the venues for the Champions Trophy 2025.

When will the ICC Champions Trophy start?
The final schedule and dates for the hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy is not yet out. However, the tournament is expected to be staged in February 2025.
ICC Champions Trophy will be held after a seven-year break. The tournament will consist of the Top 8 ODI nations of the world.
The teams will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the final. The winners of the semi-finals will play the elusive final game.
