The Saurashtra Premier League 2023 is just around the corner. It is a domestic T20 League played in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. The tournament is in its third edition after the first two seasons were held in 2019 and 2022.
There are five teams - Sorath Lions, Gohilwad Gladiators, Halar Heroes, Kutch Warriors, and Zalawad Royals. All the matches are played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium in Rajkot. The tournament is played in a round-robin format. All the teams play each other once. The top two teams at the end of ten matches play the final.

Who are the previous winners of the Saurashtra Premier League?
Sorath Lions were the inaugural winners of the Saurashtra Premier League (SPL) in 2019. They beat league-stage toppers Zalawad Royals by five runs in a close encounter. Himalaya Barad’s 83 off 59 deliveries meant that Lions set a target of 160 runs.
In reply, the Royals fell short by five runs, courtesy of Chetan Sakariya’s 3/27 off four overs. He was complimented by Chirag Jani, who conceded just 22 runs in his four overs while picking the wickets of Prerak Mankad and Jyot Chhaya.

Halar Heroes won the second edition in 2022. Like in 2019, the league-stage toppers failed to win the trophy in 2022. Gohilwad Gladiators fell short as Halar Heroes celebrated.
Parth Chauhan’s unbeaten knock of 39 runs made sure that Heroes put up a respectable total on the scoreboard. Chasing 163, the Gladiators fell off like a pack of cards and were bundled out for 122 inside 18 overs. Navneet Vora and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja took three wickets each.
