In the first-ever World Cup, Australia fought valiantly but eventually had to bow down against the mighty West Indies. Riding on Clive Lloyd's 102 West Indies put up a total of 291 runs and then bowled out Australia for 274

1987

In a fiercely competitive game between two arch-rivals it was Aussies who reigned supreme in the end as the lifted their first World Cup trophy under the leadership of legendary Alan Border.

1999-2007

Australia absolutely dominated world cricket between 1999 and 2007 as they won three consecutive titles. They were simply invincible during this period led by Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting.

2015

After crashing out from the quarter-final in the 2011 World Cup in India, Australia were back to being the best in the world in 2015 as they beat New Zealand in the final to lift their record fifth World Cup title.

2023

Australia beat the odds and India at Ahmedabad to win their sixth World Cup title. Despite losing the first two matches of the World Cup, Australia went on a nine-game winning run to win the title.
