The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Annual Player Contracts for Indian senior men's players for the 2023-24 season (October 1st, 2023 to September 30th, 2024) on Wednesday.

The new list saw the omission of regular India team stars Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer who have been dropped by the board from their annual player's contract list.

Several rising stars of Indian cricket, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma and Ruturaj Gaikwad has been included in the Grade C category, although batters like Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, who recently made their Test debuts against England were ignored.

How can Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan earn BCCI central contracts?

According to India Today editor Rahul Rawat, the pair could earn themselves BCCI central contracts if they feature for the Indian team in the fifth and final Test match of the series against England in Dharamsala.

What is the minimum requirement to be eligible for an India contract?

According to BCCI's official statement, any player who meets the criteria of playing a minimum of 3 Tests or 8 ODIs or 10 T20Is.

Both Khan and Jurel were part of the third and fourth Test matches against England in Rajkot and Ranchi, thus the fifth Test will be the player's third matches of their international making them eligible to earn BCCI central contracts.
