Gujarat Titans (GT), the defending champions, have picked up from right where they left it last season as they look the team to beat in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) as well.
They made their IPL debut in 2022 and won the coveted title after defeating 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the final.
In the process, Hardik Pandya became the only captain alongside Shane Warne to win an IPL trophy in their first season as captain. Coincidentally, Warne did it with RR in 2008.
In this year's IPL, GT find themselves at the top of the pile with 18 points from 13 games, three points clear of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They are four points above third-placed Mumbai Indians (MI), who have 14 points from 12 games.
With one game to go now in the league stage, GT have become the first team to make it to the play-offs of IPL 2023.

With a win over SRH on Monday, GT qualified for the IPL play-offs for the second time in a row.
They are also the first team to assure themselves a top-four finish in IPL 2023.
