Indian wicketkeeper batter, Sanju Samson who is opening for India in the ongoing T20I series in the absence of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill was issued a warning from former Indian opener and now commentator, Aakash Chopra regarding his spot in the Indian side.
While chasing a small target of 128 runs, Samson scored 29(19) in the first T20I win over Bangladesh in Gwalior after finding an opportunity to open the batting alongside Abhishek Sharma. His stay at the crease included 6 fours before he was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Is Sanju Samson's India T20I spot in danger?
Following the game, Chopra expressed his feelings about Samson's 29-run stay and called the 29-year-old to score big or he will lose his spot in the team.
"You need to talk about Sanju Samson. Abhishek Sharma was playing amazingly well until he was there, but he got run out. But how well did Sanju play?" Chopra said.
"He was made to open. The silken touch was seen. He wasn't hitting the ball hard. It seemed like he didn't want to hurt the ball, and he was hitting one four after another. When everyone was hitting, he also hit but by caressing the ball. You were getting hit, you were bleeding, but you were not feeling the pain," added Chopra.
"He is good. He scored 29 runs. My only thing was that since he had reached here, he should go slightly further ahead. He should score a few more runs because, otherwise, they would drop him. He keeps moving in and out [of the playing XI], and up and down [the batting order]," he concluded.
After playing over 30 T20I matches since making his debut back in 2015, he has been in and out of the Indian team.
With his newly found stable role at the top of the order under the new head coach Gautam Gambhir, it remains to be seen whether the RR captain will finally seal his spot in the team after the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
