GT vs MI Live updates, score and result

00:03- 171 all-out after 18.2 overs. GT have shown today why they are the champions, with their bowlers and batsman both coming through to put up an excellent performance which will see them face CSK in the final. Today was all about Gill but nothing can be taken away from Mohit either who took five scalps off ten runs. He was supported by ace bowlers Shami and Rashid who were at their usual best. MI bow out with their heads held high, but Rohit will be regretting his decision to bowl first and his own performance today. Their top order did not get going today, and despite their valiant efforts, Tilak and Suryakumar couldn't make up for their side's bowling performance. Dhoni will have too cook up something extraordinary for CSK to beat GT again, but if anyone can they can.

23:36- 156-6 after 15 overs. It's slipping away from MI's hand, with Mohit having taken Suryakumar and Vinod's wicket in the last over. The former like Gill was a one-man army, but could not cross the 100 runs mark which is perhaps what was needed of him to do the unthinkable. However, it still is too early to say that this match is over, as we have seen much crazier things happen in this competition. GT will hope that the Indians' fairytale story isn't written at their cost.

23:30- Suryakumar gets his 50.

23:06- 110-3 after 10 overs. MI still holding on with Suryakumar and Green powering through GT's excellent bowling lineup to give their side a chance to win the game and get to the final on May 29. The odds are still stacked in the reigning champion's favour, however, if they can't stop one of these batsmen, it might be a tense ending to the match for them.

22:49- 72-3 after six overs. Despite losing both of their openers and Tilka Verma, MI are not going down without a fight. Verma with his short spell has started them off on the right path, and Suryakumar is also trying to hit every ball either out of the stadium or at least beyond the boundary ropes. The Indians will be banking on their remaining talented batsmen to keep up the momentum in the non-powerplay overs as well. Shami and Rashid have been the key difference between both sides with the ace bowlers taking three wickets between the two, on a pitch that otherwise feels batting-friendly.

2nd Inning starts.

21:55- 233-3 after 20 overs. It was Gill's show through and through, the GT batsman will be disappointed not to become the highest-ever scoring Indian in a single inning in IPL, but his knock may have just got his team to their second consecutive IPL final. Sharma may come to regret his decision to chase, however, MI have always been one of the best batting sides this season and who knows maybe they successfully post the highest-ever run-chase in the league's history.

21:20- 166 after 15 overs. Gill just doesn't look in the mood to stop, and no one from MI can seem to stop him. He is well on his way to scoring one of the biggest individual scores not only in Playoffs but all of IPL. Rohit will need a miracle from his bowlers to restrict the score below 200 in this innings, or hope that he and his fellow batsmen turn up to successfully chase a huge total in the next one.

21:15- Gill scores his third century of this season and perhaps the most important one yet, what a man and what a moment! He is well on his way to scoring one of the highest individual scores in an IPL Playoff.

20:51- 91-1 after 10 overs. MI just don't have an answer for Gill who looks unstoppable today. Despite the unusual pitch conditions, he is hitting every bowler out of the park and has scored his fifth 50 of this IPL season. Apart from Chawla's dismissal of Saha, the Indians bowlers have generally looked lost and must be praying they can get Gill out before he scores yet another ton which will make things difficult for MI.

20:47- Gill gets his half-century.

20:29- 50-0 after six overs. After a more balanced start to proceedings, GT's batsmen are starting to assert themselves, with Gill, in particular, looking to hit the ball beyond the boundaries whenever he can. The leading run-scorer of the IPL will be looking for his third century of this tournament and to guide his side to their second consecutive IPL final. Rohit will be hoping MI's bowlers can dismiss him before he really gets going and they don't rue the fact they dropped him at 31(20).

20:00- First Innings begins! Gill and Saha open for GT. Behrendorff bowls first for MI.

19:53- Lineups announced

MI: Ishan Kishan(w), Rohit Sharma(c), Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Chris Jordan, Piyush Chawla, Jason Behrendorff, Kumar Kartikeya, Akash Madhwal

GT: Wriddhiman Saha(w), Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya(c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami

19:45- MI win the toss, choose to bowl.

19:45- While rain has stopped now, it could come back again. Read here to understand what will happen if GT vs MI is rained off.

18:55- The drizzle has stopped! Hopefully, it doesn't make a return to play a further part in proceedings.

18:47- Pitch report: "The dimensions first. We are slightly towards the eastern side, so one side is 63m and 68m on the other side, 74m downtown and some reasonable side pockets as well. There have been runs aplenty on pitch No. 7 - 204 batting first, 207 batting first, 227 batting first in the three games played," said Simon Doull earlier today. Matthew Hayden walked in to say "To me this wicket looks very, very patchy. Earlier in the season there was a lot more grass covering on it. Right now it looks like just rolled in grass which kind of gives the illusion that it is not too bad. Some quality spinners in both games and some upfront bowlers in the powerplay as well. This venue is the top 5 in the list of fours and sixes, but I'm not convinced we will get those big numbers (first innings scores) today. I think it is a 180 wicket at best."

18:44- Uh oh! Spoke too soon, the rain has started to get heavier. Let's hope we get a full game today between these two brilliant teams.

18:41- There is some rain at the moment, however, it's very light and hopefully things clear up before the match is scheduled to begin.

18:36- Welcome to TSN's coverage of the second Qualifier between GT and MI to decide who will meet CSK in the IPL 2023 final. It's clash of titans as the reigning champions square up against the most successful franchise in the league.

Rashid the batter or Rashid the bowler?

Rashid Khan was in some mood with the bat last time GT took on MI, scoring 72 off 39 balls to give MI a tiny scare though GT ended up losing. Will he dominate with the bat and ball again?

Shubman Gill's time to claim the Orange Cap?

Faf du Plessi (730 runs) has pretty much had the Orange Cap throughout this IPL but Shubman Gill (722 runs) is only 8 runs away and could very well inch ahead tonight.

Expect a run fest tonight?

The Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad has been bit of a batter's paradise in the IPL this year and it seems tonight will be more of the same.

The strip being used tonight has not been used much and should not show any signs of wear and tear, making strokeplay easy.

Read this to know about the pitch nature and IPL records at Ahmedabad in a detailed manner.

Will Rashid Khan get Rohit again?

MI skipper has traditionally struggled against Rashid Khan, getting out to him 4 out of six times they've faced each other.

However, in Suryakumar Yadav, MI have an antidote to Rashid. SKY has scored 67 runs in 47 balls against the Afghan spinner.

MI batting vs GT bowling

Mumbai Indians have the strongest batting lineup in the IPL, arguably. Same with GT. They have the best bowling attack in the IPL.

It will make for a fascinating battle tonight.

What is Mumbai Indians' playoff record?

Mumbai Indians have a pretty decent record in the playoffs, their five titles a testimony to that.

But how many playoff games have they won? Find out here.

Hardik Pandya's batting struggles

GT captain Hardik Pandya hasn't exactly been in great form this season. His numbers have dipped alarmingly when compared to last year but the great form of Shubman Gill and GT's disciplined bowling attack has helped them tide over it.

Soham provides an analysis into how much Pandya's form has dipped.

Ahmedabad Weather Update

It is going to be hot day and evening at Ahmedabad and there are very little chances of rain. The humidity won't be high, making for a comfortable evening of playoff cricket.
