Gambhir led the KKR to Indian Premier League (IPL) glory, not once, but twice! After starting the IPL journey on a lower note, KKR bounced back to win two titles in three years (2012 & 2014).

Now the prodigal son has returned to his 'adopted home' as he has taken charge of the franchise as their mentor ahead of IPL 2024.

Gambhir said,

I am a tough guy to handle (smiles) - I need to thank Shah Rukh Khan & Venky Bhai, when I came in 2011, SRK told me only one thing 'make it or break it' - he told same thing in 2023 as well.

He continued,

I replied to him 'When I leave the franchise, it will be in much better place than now' - SRK teach me honesty, dignity and be kind to everyone.
