One of the league's most popular teams is Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite never winning the league, RCB enjoys a fantastic home support, and has seen some legends of the game don their jersey; Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis have all called the Garden City home.

'Really infectious' - Faf du Plessis reveals how it feels like to bat with RCB teammate Virat Kohli

This season, RCB will kick off the tournament, as they take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the season opener on March 22, at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. RCB have not won there since 2008.

Looking ahead to the season, RCB captain Faf du Plessis opened up on the experience of opening the batting with India star Virat Kohli, also his predecessor in the leadership role. Speaking to Star Sports, he said,

It's unbelievable to bat with Virat Kohli. He is one of my favourite guys to bat with, and brings out so much energy in me. He's so passionate. Him being out there in the middle, is really infectious, the way he gives that energy.

RCB fans are eagerly awaiting Kohli's return to cricketing action. He last played during India's tour of South Africa in December, and missed the home Test series against England as he and his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, welcomed their second child.
