Ishan Kishan refuses to play Duleep Trophy

Ishan, who was one of the top candidates to lead the East Zone in this year's Duleep Trophy, has refused to participate as he has a chance of being selected for India's upcoming tour of West Indies, which will take place from July 12 to August 8.

With India's main wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant out with injury, Ishan is likely to make the cut. He was a part of their World Test Championship (WTC) Final squad against Australia, however, KS Bharat started the match due to his prior experience in Test games.

After India's disappointing show however, there's a strong chance of a revamp, with new players getting a chance to be in the starting eleven. Therefore, the player has refused to be in this year's Duleep trophy, and instead, Abhimany Easwaran will lead the East Zone.
