Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja missed out on India's ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka. The BCCI announced the squads for the T20I and the subsequent ODI series on Thursday.
The Jamnagar-born cricketer announced his retirement from the T20I format after the 2024 World Cup win. Despite the triumph, Jadeja's tournament went massively below par, considering his high standards.
Cut to a fortnight later, he is now omitted from the 50-over format as well. There is no light from the BCCI, if the all-rounder was not considered for selection, or is just rested from the series, like ace-pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

The fans have put out a flurry of speculations, as Ravindra Jadeja was omitted from India's squad to face Sri Lanka. India will play three ODIs from August 02, to prepare for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Jadeja's omission might as well mean that he is not in India's plans for the next ICC event, due to commence in February 2025. The fans have cast their doubts, about whether the all-rounder was dropped, or was unfit for selection.

BCCI not selecting Jadeja has raised the eyebrows of fans, more so after his stupendous outing at the recent ODI World Cup 2023. A household name in India's ODI setup over the last decade, Jadeja picked up 16 wickets in the ODI World Cup, while also averaging 40 with the bat.

The fan also feels that something fishy is going on behind the scenes, as Jadeja deserved a call-up, for his exploits in the recent ODI WC.
