Pakistan lost their opening game of the tournament against USA in a shocking turn of events and are in a delicate position with respect to the qualification into the super eights. The game against India will be a must win game for Babar Azam and co.

Ahead of the massive clash, Pakistani fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi was spotted in New York who seemed to be having a surprise encounter with a bunch of Indian fans. The mood seemed to be light hearted, with one of the fans also making a sarcastic request to the pacer.

Shaheen Afridi asked to not play well by Indian fans

Afridi and the fans seemed to be having very light hearted conversations with both the player as well as the fans laughing and having fun. In the video, Afridi seems to be thanking the fans for their love as well. Just then, while clicking pictures, one of the fans said “Don’t play well tomorrow” to which everyone including Afridi himself burst out laughing.

The fan also asked Afridi to consider the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as his good friends and not go all in against them. During Pakistan’s first ever victory against India in T20 World Cups back in 2021, Afridi had ripped through the Indian top order, dismissing the likes of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He was also named the man of the match for his brilliant 3/30 in four overs.

If Pakistan do end up bowling first on the Nassau County pitch on Sunday, they could create huge problems for the Indian batting order. Despite playing in the game against Ireland, the Indian batting line-up has been fairly untested, making the bowling attack of Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Mohammed Amir a big obstacle to get through.
