Hardik has begun to play regularly again after recurring injuries interrupted much of his career in the last few years. However, the Gujarat Titans skipper only plays the limited over formats, for India and in domestic cricket.

'Doesn't look like he will (return to Test squad),' Kapil Dev on Hardik Pandya

In an interview with the Times of India, 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was asked about whether he thought Hardik would return to the India side in the longest format of the game. His response was blunt and to the point.

"Doesn’t look like he will.”

Dev did say that he felt Hardik should play, but he just didn't see it happening.

“I saw his photograph on the billboard today. I don’t know whether they did any touch-up or not, but in that, he looked like having one of the finest bodies we have in the country. Yes, he should play more cricket because he has so much ability. If he is fit, he should play Test cricket also.”
