One of India's recent Test debutants Dhruv Jurel reminisced a moment from his debut series against England where Joe Root sledged him. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) wicket-keeper received his maiden India call-up in the home Test series against England, earlier this year.
After coming up through the ranks of RR, Jurel earned his call-up on the back of an impressive season with the franchise in IPL 2023.
Speaking on Jatin Sapru's Roaring with the Lions podcast, Jurel revealed that he was taken aback by his former IPL teammate and England talisman, Joe Root's attitude on the pitch as the Englishman allegedly sledged him on the pitch while batting.

What did Dhruv Jurel say about being sledged by Joe Root?
Dhruv Jurel was shocked to see his former RR teammate Joe Root sledging him and trying to get on his nerves in order to get him dismissed.
Jurel and Root shared the dressing room for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023. Like Jurel, even the 33-year-old Englishman made his IPL debut in that season.
Speaking to Jatin Sapru, the youngster said, "He was all aggressive by then and was continuously sledging. Given the British accent, I did not understand half of those words. I was shocked because Root used to play with me in IPL, and I asked him, 'Why are you sledging me?' He replied: ‘We are all playing for our country now."
