Gujarat Titans continue their perfect start to the 2023 Indian Premier League as they beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets.

Sai Sudharsan scored an unbeaten 62 off 48 ball before David Miller came in and finished the job with 31 off 16.

The Capitals were put in to bat first but could never get going. Mohammad Shami took two wickets in the powerplay before ending with figures of 3/41. Alzarri Joseph (2/29) bowled with serious pace and almost got a hat-trick.

Good economical bowling from skipper Hardik Pandya and Josh Little along with three wickets from Rashid Khan (3/31) restricted DC to 162/8 in their first innings.

Anrich Nortje was off to a flying start with the ball as he bowled Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill before Khaleel Ahmed also removed Pandya in the powerplay.

Sudharsan then took control of the match as he put on a 50-run partnership with Vijay Shankar (29), setting the foundation for Miller to power Gujarat over the line with 11 deliveries to spare.

The Titans move ahead of Rajasthan Royals to go top of the IPL table while the Capitals are in eighth.

DC vs GT result , updates from the 2023 IPL at Arun Jaitley Stadium

GT WIN! The reigning champions win by six wickets with 11 balls to move to the top of the IPL table. Sudharsan and Miller get the job done as Delhi have now lost their opening two games.

GT 18th over (161/4): The stadium is silent as the Titans close in on the win. Miller has come in and completely taken the game away from DC after great work from Sudharsan.

GT 17th over (151/4): Sudharsan brings up his 50 with a ramp shot before ending the over with a six over deep fine leg. This game is all but over. GT need 12 of balls 18.

GT 16th over: Miller hits two big shots on the leg side before well-timed four to get GT into a great position going into the final four overs. Nortje has one more over to bowl for DC, here is how he got on earlier.

GT 15th over (117/4): Yadav thinks he had dismissed Miller for LBW, but a good review from the batter shows the ball would have missed leg stump. This is set to be a tight finish.

GT 14th over (112/4): Sudharsan is going at a steady rate and is being very patient with his batting. David Miller is with him in the middle but DC will not want him to stay there for long.

WICKET! There it is! After using their review, Marsh traps Vijay Shankar for LBW and gives DC another big breakthrough.

GT 13th over (106/3): Nortje concedes just five runs from the over but cannot take the wicket the Delhi Capitals are searching for to break up this partnership. Porel almost took a good diving catch to remove Sudharsan, but it was beyond his reach.

GT 12th over (101/3): The visitors reach the 100-run mark and just need slightly over a run-a-ball to pick up their second win of the season.

GT 11th over (91/3): Delhi Capitals need to find another breakthrough soon as the two batters at the crease are comfortable seeing the overs out. Nortje only has two overs left.

GT 10th over (83/3): Both Sudharsan and Shankar are doing well to run between the wickets and put pressure on the DC fielders. They are setting the foundation for a big finish.

GT 9th over (74/3): Sudharsan gets onto his backfoot and punches the ball away for four. He has settled into his innings now and will look to accelerate the run rate.

GT 8th over (66/3): Kuldeep Yadav and Porel think that they have caught Sudharsan out, but a review shows that the batter did not touch the ball. The game is in the balance right now.

GT 7th over (62/3): Mitchell Marsh bowls a decent over as the Titans look to calm things down and slow DC's momentum. Sudharsan is at the crease with Vijay Shankar.

GT 6th over (54/3): That was the perfect end to the powerplay for Delhi Capitals. GT will need to stop the loss of wickets and build a partnership to get back in control of this game.

WICKET! Khaleel gets the wicket of Hardik Pandya on the final ball of the powerplay! He swings the ball away from the batter and Pandya edges the ball to Porel.

GT 5th over (49/2): Despite the wicket, Nortje has an expensive over. Sai Sudharsan scoops him for six as GT score 13 off the fifth over.

WICKET! Nortje does it again off his first ball of the over as Gill is bowled out! The batter once again is just beaten by raw speed and Warner has a big smile on his face now.

GT 4th over (36/1): The Titans are not panicking after the wicket of Saha. They know the target is not beyond them even if they have a few slower overs.

GT 3rd over (30/1): Warner will want his side to build on this over from Nortje and hope for at least one more wicket in the powerplay, prefarably that of Gill.

WICKET! Nortje comes in a takes a wicket off his first ball as Saha is bowled out! The batter is beaten for pace and that is exactly what DC needed.

GT 2nd over (22/0): Shubman Gill also gets off the mark with two boundaries against Mukesh Kumar. The Titans have also named Dasun Shanaka as Kane Williamson's replacement for the tournament.

GT 1st over (14/0): Khaleel Ahmed bowls the first over after being subbed in for Sarfaraz. Wriddhiman Saha two fours and a six to get GT off to a good start.

DC 20th over (162/8): Nortje scores a four off the final ball of the innings as the Capitals set a target of 163 for GT win. It was a brilliant bowling and fielding display from the defending champions.

WICKET! Axar Patel's innings comes to an end as he tries to get DC to a decent score. He slices the ball to David Miller in the deep, with Shami getting his third wicket of the match.

DC 19th over (150/7): Rashid Khan ends with figures of 3/31 off his four overs as the home side reach 150 runs with one over to go.

WICKET! Just after hitting a six, Aman walks back to the dugout as Khan gets him out. He top-edges his shot off the bowling of Khan and Pandya takes an easy catch.

DC 18th over (141/6): Patel seems to be the Capital's only hope of pulling off a decent score. He hits another six, this time down the ground, to help DC get nine runs off the over.

DC 17th over (132/6): GT completely on top in this matchup and will want to end strongly without giving away cheap runs. Little is set to finish off his spell.

WICKET! Rashid Khan picks up his second wicket of the game as Sarfaraz's disappointing innings comes to an end. He is caught by Little and ends with a score of 30 off 34 balls.

DC 16th over (126/5): A strategic timeout is taken as DC look to find a plan to capitalise on these final four overs. The GT bowlers will be brimming with confidence going into the death overs.

DC 15th over (121/5): With Sarfaraz struggling at one end, Patel decides to take the aggressive approach. He smokes a six off the final ball of Khan's over.

DC 14th over (112/5): Joseph ends with figures of 2/29 off his four overs as the seamer has a very good innings. The Titans are putting the pressure on the Capitals going into the final few overs.

DC 13th over (106/5): Axar Patel joins Sarfaraz at the crease and get his innings underway with a well-timed boundary. These two batters will need to produce a good partnership and somehow survive against Khan's bowling spell.

WICKET! Rashid Khan gets a wicket on his second ball as Porel is bowled out. DC cannot get anything going here as GT are dominating them.

DC 12th over (100/4): Porel brings up the 100-run mark for Delhi with a huge six on the leg-side. Sarfaraz was dropped earlier in the over by Little off the bowling of Dayal.

DC 11th over (88/4): Porel finally gets the first six of the innings for DC as Dayal's attempted catch takes him over the boundary rope. Joseph is bowling with incredible pace.

DC 10th over (78/4): The home side need to pick up some momentum sooner rather than later as they reach the halfway point in the innings. GT are continuing to stick with their seamers.

DC 9th over (70/4): That was an eventful over from Joseph. He picks up two big wickets and almost got a hat-trick. GT are firmly in the driving seat at the moment.

WICKET! Its two in two for Joseph as Rilee Rossouw is out for a golden duck! Joseph bangs in the short ball and the batter does not see it coming. He deflects to the ball around the corner, where Tewatia takes a diving catch.

WICKET! That is the one GT wanted! Warner is out after he drags the ball onto his stumps off the bowling of Joseph. DC are not in a great position here.

DC 8th over (67/2): Pandya has a much better over this time around, conceding just four from it. Warner is trying to free his hands a bit more but DC are fielding well. Sarfaraz needs to help his skipper more at the other end.

DC 7th over (63/2): Warner takes some pressure off his side as he scores 10 runs off Joseph's first over. GT will be focusing on getting the Australian out.

DC 6th over (52/2): Pandya closes out the powerplay with a loose delivery as DC pass the 50-run mark in the six overs. Warner is itching to get going as Sarfaraz is still finding his feet in this one.

DC 5th over (42/2): Shami has not been in complete control during this powerplay, conceding 29 runs in his three overs, but his wickets will please skipper Hardik Pandya.

WICKET! Shami picks up his second wicket in as many overs as Marsh heads back to the dugout. The batter drags the ball onto his stumps while attempting to cut it away to the boundary.

DC 4th over (33/1): Little almost has a maiden over after five dot balls, but gives Warner a full toss on the last delivery and the batter slashes it away for four.

DC 3rd over (29/1): Not the most economical over from Shami, but he will be relieved to pick up the wicket of Shaw. Marsh joins Warner in the middle.

WICKET! Shami was heading for another poor over, but he gets the wicket of Shaw! The batter is caught out by the short ball, with Joseph taking the catch.

DC 2nd over (20/0): Warner is starting to find his rhythm as he scores a four off Joshua Little's final ball of the over. Prithvi Shaw has faced just one ball so far.

DC 1st over (11/0): Mohmmad Shami gets the ball swinging, but too much for his liking. He bowls three wide deliveries, with the final one also reaching the boundary rope. He also hits the stumps when bowling to David Warner, but the bails do not fall off!

30 mins from first ball: It is almost time for the toss at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. It is a pitch that usually favours the batting side, but spinners can also get some joy from it.

60 mins from first ball: GT have won four of their last five IPL games, including their win over Rajasthan Royals in the finals. Three of their four losses in the 2022 campaign came in the latter stages of the tournament.

90 minutes from first ball: Delhi have a great opportunity to make a statement win against the reigning champions in front of their home fans. It could the victory that kickstarts their campaign.
