Australian southpaw David Warner is set to hang up his boots after the 2024 T20 World Cup. In what turned out to be a shocker of an announcement, the world of cricket would surely miss Warner for his contribution to the sport.
Warner has decided to bid farewell to the shortest format of the sport after he announced his retirement from Tests and ODIs earlier. The 37-year-old confessed about his decision to the media after the third and final T20I against West Indies.
The left-hander has been balling it out at the highest level, even at 37! The veteran finished the recent bilateral series as the highest run-scorer and has hinted at his retirement after winning the Player of the Series award. The Australian opener scored 173 runs in just three matches, getting his hands on the individual award.

David Warner was adjudged the Player of the Series in the three-match T20I series against West Indies. The southpaw made public, his decision, and desire to retire from all forms of international cricket.
When asked about his future plans, Warner gave a hinting reply as to what we could expect shortly. He stated that it was time for the youngsters to step up, and fill into his boots at the end of the World Cup.
Speaking to reporters, Warner said,
I'm well and truly done, it's time for the youngsters to come through and show their talent.
He also added,
