On Thursday, March 7, India and England will face off in the fifth and final Test of their bilateral series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. It will a milestone 100th Test for Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The visitors drew first blood in the series, winning by 28 runs in Hyderabad. India hit back with a 106-run win in Visakhapatnam, before registering a record victory by 434 runs in the third Test in Rajkot.

India sealed a series victory after winning in Ranchi, as Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel took the hosts over the line in a tricky fourth-innings chase of 192.

Ashwin is set to join an elite club as only 13 Indians have played 100 Tests before this. He will share the stage with England's Jonny Bairstow, who will also be completing a century of Tests.

However, this occasion was not momentous for everyone. Former India leg-spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan took to X to claim that he had tried to call Ashwin ahead of the landmark match but Ashwin cut the phone on him.

While Sivaramakrishnan blamed this on current cricketers not having respect for the previous generation, many users were quick to point out that he had not earned Ashwin's respect for the kind of comments he had earlier made on the off-spinner.
