When the time comes, MS Dhoni will retire as a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player and will go down in history as arguably the greatest captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will join the likes of Stephen Fleming, the current head coach of CSK, in a mentoring or coaching capacity. Fleming played for CSK in 2008 and took over coaching duties from Kepler Wessels in 2009.
15 years later, after sharing the dressing room as players, the player-coach duo of Dhoni-Fleming have guided CSK to their fifth IPL.

What did Stephen Fleming say about MS Dhoni?
Speaking after the win, Fleming talked about just how much MSD loves the Super Kings franchise.
"CSK is very close to the heart of MS Dhoni, he gives a lot and win a title at this age with this team means a lot to him."
Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the final of IPL 2023 in what was one of the best finishes ever to an IPL season.

How did MS Dhoni perform in IPL 2023?
Even though 'Thala' was dismissed for a golden duck in the final, he sent Shubman Gill back to the pavilion with a stellar stumping. Dhoni was quick as a flash and recorded the reaction time of 0.12 seconds to break GT's opening stand.
Overall, the 41-year-old faced just 62 deliveries and scored 104 runs at a strike rate of 167.74. This is the lowest number of balls faced and runs scored by Dhoni in a single season.
