Indian men's and women's teams are set to debut at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games as cricket returns to the continental event for the first time since 2014.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India decided to send both its men's and women's teams for this edition of the Asian Games.

​​​​​​Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the men's cricket team while Harmanpreet Kaur has been named the captain of the women's side.

Indian cricket team draw for 2023 Asian Games

The tournament will be played in a T20 format. The men's competition will be a 15-team event. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh are already given a spot in the quarterfinals. The other 11 sides are drawn into four different groups and one from each group will proceed to the next stage.

In the women's event too, India have already been seeded into the quarterfinals along with three more teams. Four more sides remain and they are placed in two groups.
