After losing his place from the Test side, Cheteshwar Pujara is working his way back on the international stage. The Indian batter, who was left out of the squad for the West Indies series, signed a contract with England County Club, Sussex.
In the match against Somerset on Friday, Pujara scored his second century of the Royal One-Day Cup. Chasing a total of 319, Pujara scored an unbeaten 117 of 113 runs as he guided his club over the finish line.

The Hove-based outfit lost three matches on-the-trot, before beating Somerset on Friday.
Pujara scored his third-consecutive fifty-plus score in the tournament. He scored 56 off 61 balls in a defeat to Derbyshire. Pujara scored his first century (106 off 119) of the tournament, in a high-scoring encounter against the Northants.
What is Pujara's record for Sussex at the One-Day Cup?
Pujara has been one of the standout performers in the competition so far. Even though Sussex has had a dismal start to the campaign, Pujara has been impressive. The 35-year-old has scored two centuries and one half-century in four matches.
Pujara is second on the list of highest run-scorers at the One-Day Cup 2023, behind fellow countryman Prithvi Shaw. Prithvi Shaw has scored 304 runs in the tournament, including a record-breaking 244 off 153 balls against Somerset.
The Rajkot-born batter has scored over 300 runs in four innings, at an average of over 150.
