Ex-Pakistan international Rashid Latif has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the haphazard way of organising the Champions' Cup domestic ODI tournament.
The former wicket-keeper slammed the apex body as cricketers were seen in substandard match gear during the game.
Pakistan cricket has been struggling over the last year or so. Their most-recent fiasco came against Bangladesh where they suffered a 2-0 whitewash at home, also marking the first time they ever lost a Test to the Bangla Tigers.
The PCB are currently organising a two-week long domestic ODI tournament to give their stars some practice ahead of England's tour later this year.

What happened with helmets in the Champions Cup ODI tournament?
In the fourth match of the ongoing Champions Cup, Asif Ali was seen wearing a cloth over helmets while patiently waiting for his turn to bat.
Asif, in Stallions' game against Wolves, was seen wearing a helmet with a cloth of the team name (franchise) over it. This irked Latif, who felt that PCB should've provided customised helmets of each team to the players.

Latif took to X (formerly, Twitter) to criticise the PCB. He stated that despite spending million on the tournament, the board was providing substandard gear to the players.

What next for Pakistan cricket team?
Shan Masood & Co. are set for yet another stern test at home, as the mighty England visit Pakistan for a three-match Test tour. The tour is scheduled as a part of the World Test Championship (2023-25).
The first match will be held in Multan from October 07 to October 11, 2024. Pakistan are currently placed eighth on the latest WTC rankings, and the three home Tests would decide their fate in the ongoing campaign.
