During an interview with PTI, Mudassar Nazar, who played 76 Tests and 122 ODIs for Pakistan from 1976 to 1989 talked about a variety of topics where he said that Babar Azam has a long way to go when it comes to comparisons with Virat Kohli.

Is Virat Kohli the greatest in the history? Nazar thinks so.

Touching upon Babar's constant comparisons with Kohli from the Pakistan media and fans, Mudassar ridiculed there being any similarity.

"I mean, there is a hell of a difference between the two players. Virat will be remembered as one of the greatest who has graced the game. Babar has still got to make a name for himself," Mudassar said.

The Indian star batter, Virat, recently completed his 27,000 international runs in a Test against Bangladesh while being the fastest to do so with the help of 80 centuries. He now stands 4th in the highest run scorers in the history of the game, just 442 runs behind Ricky Ponting.

On the other hand, Babar Azam has 13,836 runs in international cricket with 31 centuries to his name, way behind in the list and way too much still to be proven on both individual and team levels.

To the credit of Nazar, he has also played a substantial amount of international cricket and has close to 7000 international runs with 10 centuries and close to 180 wickets to his name. He recently also worked as the head coach of the United Arab Emirates side in 2023 and has done the same with the Kenya Cricket Association previously.
