Team India are all set to compete at the Paris Olympics 2024. A total of 32 sports will be played at the upcoming Olympic Games, as the Indian contingent looks to surpass their previous tally of seven medals from the 2020 edition. 

The Indian Olympic Association has already sent the Indian contingent to the Olympic Village in Paris, as the athletes and sportspersons gear up for the quadrennial event. To support the IOA, the apex organisation of Indian Cricket, the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has offered a sum of money for the Olympians travelling to France. 

BCCI set to provide financial aid to IOA for Paris Olympics 2024

BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah on Sunday, revealed that the organisation will hand over a sum of INR 8.5 crores to support the Indian contingent travelling to Paris. The Olympic dream is a collective dream of the nation, and the cash-rich cricketing body has made sure to offer a helping hand to the Indian Olympic Association.  

When will the Paris Olympics 2024 begin?

The Paris Olympics 2024 are scheduled to commence with the opening ceremony scheduled for July 26, 2024. August 11 will be the final day of the mega event. 

PV Sindhu (Badminton) and Sharath Kamal (Table Tennis) will be India's flag-bearers at the opening ceremony for this edition.
