How did MS Dhoni trick Bangladesh cricketers?
At a recent event in Kolkata, Dhoni revealed that he could understand Bengali because of his time in Kharagpur, where he was posted as a Ticket Collector.
He also played in several club competitions and spent a considerable amount of time in West Bengal. Also, his in-laws are residents of Kolkata.
I was posted in Kharagpur, so I would speak fluent Bengali. I can still speak, but it would come with some errors, Dhoni revealed at an event in Kolkata.
Dhoni recalled how he tricked Bangladesh players by pretending he did not Bengali, although he clearly understands the language.
Interestingly, we were playing a match against Bangladesh. They did not know I could understand Bengali. The wicket-keeper would advise the bowler from behind the stumps. I already knew what the bowler was going to bowl, joked Dhoni.
After the match, when the players were talking with each other, Dhoni revealed to the opposition about his trick.
