As per reports, Babar Azam will most likely remain as Pakistan's captain in the white ball formats. The 29-year-old, who was initially team's all format captain, was sacked from his role after Pakistan's abysmal ODI World Cup 2023 campaign,
He was replaced in T20s by Shaheen Afridi who was sacked from his role after one bad series. As a result, Babar was the captaincy back in T20 and ODIs.
However, the failure to qualify to the Super 8 stage in the T20 World Cup coupled with his indifferent batting form of late had re-ignited rumours that Babar was set to be replaced as captain in ODIs and T20Is.
The critics and fans have been demanding a major overhaul of playing personnel and team roles going forward. But, the coaching personnel suggest otherwise, as per reports.

Will Pakistan sack Babar Azam from white-ball captaincy?
As per PTI, a source from the Pakistan Cricket Board indicated that there are no plans afoot to remove Babar from the captaincy again.
"There has been no discussion on changing the captains as the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has left it up to the two coaches and selectors to decide on the captaincy," a PCB source told PTI.
Moreover, Gary Kirsten - Pakistan's white-ball coach, and Jason Gillespie - red-ball coach, have demanded continuity in leadership roles from the PCB.
"And Kirsten and Gillespie are very clear that Shan and Babar both need to be given a proper run before judging their leadership abilities," the source added.
